London City Airport is the most central of the capital's airports, located just 10km (6 miles) east of the City of London.

London City Airport is the smallest of the London airports, and has money exchange facilities, information and hotel booking desks and ATMs as well as a smaller number of shops, bars and restaurants.  

 

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: There is  a bank, bureaux de change, ATMs and a post box. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the terminal.

Eating and drinking: There are cafés and restaurants both before security and airside, and there is a bar in the Departures area.

Shopping:  There are several shops at the airport, including a newsagents/bookshop and a tax- and duty-free shop. A collection service is available for returning shoppers.


Luggage:  There is a left-luggage and lost property service at the airport (tel: (020) 7646 0088).

Other facilities: There is a shoeshine service.

Various car hire companies are represented in the terminal building. 

Car Parking:

The main long and short stay car parks are next to the terminal. There is also a business car park at the airport.

Driving Directions

The airport can be accessed from north London via the North Circular Road (A406), from south London via the Blackwall Tunnel, from east London via the A13 and from the M11 via the A406 (North Circular). The airport can be reached from the West End of London via the Limehouse link tunnel. 

Public Transport

Rail:  Docklands Light Railway services run from the City of London and Canning Town underground station and rail station (tel: (020) 7222 1234; www.tfl.gov.uk). Trains run every 7 minutes, and take 14 minutes to reach Canning Town , and 22 minutes to reach Bank station.

Coach: There is a l ocal bus 473 which runs to Stratford and North Woolwich , and bus 474 serves Canning Town . A payable daily shuttle bus service runs every 30 minutes to a number of hotels in the area.

Taxi: There is a stand with licensed black taxis, located directly outside the terminal building. Fares to central London start from £20-25.
